Artistic vision

‘Canvas brushed with hues, Paint and plants dance in tandem, Nature whispers art.’

Mark's artistic vision is deeply influenced by his interactions with the evolving landscape. Capturing the narrative of change and exploring the interplay of composition and light in his paintings, Mark's work often portrays both developed and preserved areas of coastal and inland beauty. His preferred subjects include landscapes, coastline and agrarian views, as well as everyday scenes like highways, alleyways, industrial areas, and construction sites. Inspired by compelling compositions, early or late light, strong contrast, and carefully choreographed color harmonies, Mark employs loose, spontaneous brushwork, working comfortably with oils or acrylics both in the studio and the field.
